I crafted!

Admiring the tree :)

Actually she was shouting BALL at the tree because she wanted the ornaments.

The last project at the end, I needed yarn for to string the stockings, however, I didnt need a whole thing of it; so I asked myself what I could do with the rest of it! Ah Pinterest is telling me to make a wreath. So I threw a foam ring in the basket. Added a bow and will add a few more embelishments over the weekend.

As we were decorating the lobby at work, there was a bare empty wall and thought we should make a "Happy Holidays" sign..well that became too much thought and so I decided I was buying stockings and everyone was getting one. Ta-da! It was a hit :)

November Birchbox

This month was less than stellar for me. But I did enjoy a few of the items.

1. I LOVE me some lotions and hand creams, so I was all over this one. Except it reminded me of the smell of lipstick and my hubby did not enjoy the smell lol
2. The nail polish is too light for my liking, I will pass this along to a cousin :)
3. Lipgloss... I am a chapstick kinda girl and this made me feel sticky, I was afraid to eat or drink anything
4. I loath tea unless it is iced or I am sick. So these will get tucked away until I feel the need to drink tea
5. Face brightener. I have not used this. I have sensitive skin and get worried if I change my face routine, I will break out.

Hope December will be more up my alley! :)

A visit with Uncle Jimmy

We made our way back to Las Vegas 2 weekends ago because Uncle Jimmy came for a visit from Florida. Uncle Jimmy is actually James' - Dad's Uncle. He is 78 I think and looks like he hasnt aged a day past 60. He looks fabulousssss and acts it too hehe.

Again, Emma was such a wonderful traveler! Probably once an hour she got fussy and wanted out, but we gave her snacks and her computer to watch Guppies and she was solid.

Last Christmas, the in-laws got Cousin Nicholas this cool car and since it stays and their house, Emma took the opportunity to take a cruise. She was mostly fascinated with the belt buckle on it, but it was cute for the few mins she drove around.

It was wonderful that Uncle Jimmy wanted to play so much, nice break for this Momma and her clingly babe. I left Jimmy and Father outside to play and after these shots, I ran inside.

Grandpa has a giant rocking giraffe (I dont ask questions haha) and he went for a ride for Emma, she was terrified to get on it.

On Sunday the Giants played and James ALWAYS has is outfit on... (its only weird if it doesnt work, right?) and then his brother showed up wearing his hahaha totally unplanned. Pretty sure those pants are from the 80s!

And this girl with TWO desserts... she knows whats up!

Nicholas is getting so big now! I love when he grabbed my hand to play. We dont get to see each other often, so it is nice that when we do see each other, he still loves me. He is obsessed with open and closing the garage door and playing with the fan light string. Cute... kinda haha until everything is blinded or broken.

Grandpa let the kids play on his precious pool table.. Emma loved the balls and was banging them. Then she wanted to use her ultra-strength tiny hands and hold 2 balls at once. She got pretty pro and was so proud of herself... and so was grandpa haha

After a quick 48 hours in Vegas, we were on our way back home! We made it home in 5 hours... we made great time and was able to watch the sun go down and it was a perfect weekend. One day, well make it to Florida and check out where Unlce Jimmy lives :)

Since there are only 35 days left...

till Christmassssss! Thanks Giving should be tomorrow so we can have an extra week to celebrate the Christmas season ;)

Happy Holidays!!

Christmas came early

Im clearly going to need to practice for upcoming years... I cant seem to not give Emma all her presents early. Im just too excited!! So yesterday at work, I had this Bubble Guppies (duh) organizer delivered to me. In the car, as soon as she sees it, she asked for Buppies?...the whole way home! So I caved... besides, I have another one being delivered next week hehe

I was sick of looking at the tub of toys in the living room, only playing with the top 10 toys all the time. So now, we organized it and she went to town :)

We also found fun in the tub all the toys came out of :)

And the just because...

And she likes to be such a lady after school...

19 months

19 months. Time is a flyin!
She has learned so many new things this month. Just this last week she now says, nose, toes, thank you, flowers, Popop for Grandpa Pizza, and please regularly now.

Enjoying some jungle cookies and watching some toons.

Finding her nose :) it is soooo cute when she wants to point out noses in every book she reads.

In her new Bubble Guppies jammies :) I bought 2 pair lol (heck  I would have bought them all, but they only had 2 in her sizes)

Eating her morning snack on the way to daycare.

This month has be extra fun! She is such a wonderful silly and happy girl. She requests that her Daddy come play with her in the evenings. James will be reading on his computer and she will yell from her room for him to come play and tickle.

She is still super picky with her food. She tried spaghetti sauce this weekend and you would have thought we filled her mouth with anchovies. She did eat some chicken parmasean at daycare they said, but after 3 bites, she had had enough.

She denied cake this last week, I think because it wasnt chocolate she was sketched out by it.

She will definitely let you know when she does not want something. She has figured out how to get on the couch and when I ask her to sit, she screams bloody murder (which means she knows is wrong?) Either way, we have tile and standing on the couch is not something we will be doing. New house will have carpet, I will feel a tad safer with that.

I love my morning snuggles and that she gives out lots of kisses and wants her Momma. Oooooh my favorite!!!

Love you little peach!!

A little too excited!

I am a little too excited for the Christmas season to be here!! Well I have the following excuses:
1. I looked for Thanksgiving colored items to make my tree; they dont exist.. I looked for brown, oranges and yellow..a few brown things with snow on them. I refused to buy lol
2. we wont be home for 2 whole weeks in Dec, plus we are packing to move in early 2014, so we wont be decorating much.
So I took the opportunity to use those as my "excuses" for decorating early :)
We have to keep everything up high because Emma wants to pull all the ornaments off and inspect them and we already had one shatter around her...which I thought I bought shatterproof..I guess not. It was so hard to just pick a few things to put on the tree, when I have enough to decorate a 12 foot tree..

I then got in the spirit at the office already!! Ah everyone is jealous.. I see that a few people are making plans to decorate on Monday next week.
I put up a cute little pink tree..duh! And little stockings and they these super glittery snow flakes :) they were half off at Hobby Lobby and 15 came in a pack, my wallet couldnt resist! I will be wrapping my door in festive paper! I just need to hit up Target for their pretty paper :)

I love that my tree at home is black with pink decor and my office is pink with black decor :)) Makes for happy chick!

Diabetes

When I was 14, I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. It has been a long hard road, but I am now confident that I can live with this disease and there will one day be a cure. Thankfully, insulin pumps have been developed and have made life a whole lot easier to manage.

facts from Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation

Type 1 diabetes strikes both children and adults at any age. It comes on suddenly, causes dependence on injected or pumped insulin for life, and carries the constant threat of devastating complications.

As many as three million Americans may have T1D

Each year, more than 15,000 children and 15,000 adults—approximately 80 people per day—are diagnosed with T1D in the U.S

The rate of T1D incidence among children under age 14 is estimated to increase by three percent annually worldwide.

T1D accounts for $14.9 billion in healthcare costs in the U.S. each year
--- I can tell you that I spend a very pretty penny each year on my healthcare. This year alone, I met my $5000 deductible by June.

Be aware of the warning signs:

• Extreme thirst
• Frequent urination
• Drowsiness or lethargy
• Increased appetite
• Sudden weight loss
• Sudden vision changes
• Sugar in the urine
• Fruity odor on the breath
• Heavy or labored breathing
• Stupor or unconsciousness

I was diagnosed genetically and it was a much easier transition for me. My Dad was diagnosed 2 years before me, my Grandpa has type 2, and my Aunt has type 1.

Happy finger pricking!

Hellllo November!

I am so excited for November to be here.
1. Christmas is less than 2 months away.
2. Hawaii is less than 2 months away.
3. Lots of family time
4. I get to wear a jacket!! Woohoo
5. I am also super excited for all of these things below...

Last but not least...being thankful. I like to be thankful for each and everyday that I am given on this earth, but I will take the 30 days of November to be extra thankful and happy for this awesome life I have been blessed with.

Halloween 2013

We kept it casual with Halloween this year because it is probably the last year we are able to do so. We started out by going to daycare for a little party they had. The kids were soooo cute. Out of respect and privacy for others children, we only took photos of Emma. Im so happy they put her costume on her, because we had tried last week and you would have thought we were toturing her and so I was happy they did it for us.. ha! She was a "little stinger" aka a bee. She hates anything on her head, so finding a costume to go for that was a tad dificult, so I was pleased with her little stinger.

I turned the camera around so she could see herself and she instantly smiled and everyone laughed.

When we got home we saw kids already going door to door, granted it was 5...but they were practically running to the houses when they saw people pull in driveways. Emma hung out on her horse till it got dark..

and then we went into the garage and this lasted all of 10 min before she realized that she could run down the driveway. She also wanted to run after other kids and sitck her hands in their baskets. We will definitely be going door to door next year in our new neighborhood :)

She could see the stars and was pointing saying "staw staw staw" soooo cute.

Hope you had a wonderful Halloween!! Now for some gobble gobble turkey time!
